A busy December

Our Decembers get crazier and crazier. We have gifts to buy and wrap and ship, Audrey's birthday to celebrate (twice: once at the American Girl Store and again at home), my choir concerts to plan around (5 this year) and an assortment of parties to throw and attend. Then there are the multitude of family traditions to uphold: decorating the tree, putting up lights, waiting for Santa to visit our street, making sugar cookies, and sharing baked goods with friends.

Now that I've said that all of our friends are wondering where their baked goods ended up - the truth is we only delivered treats to the people who live within walking distance and then we gave up, but it was still fun, for us. We received so many sweet cards from friends living all over the country - this is my official and heartfelt "Thank You!"

We had a lovely Christmas Day with presents galore, lots of food, my parents for company, and whale watching from a cliff in Palos Verdes. I am still trying to find places to put all of our gifts - I think our house has reached maximum capacity.

It has taken me all of January to find the time to post again. We've been occupied getting back into our regular routine and enjoying our easy weekends. We had so much fun and so many sweets, ordinary life feels quite good. 'Til next year!
